Florida - Day 20

Epcot:
We explored the final frontier today, Epcot. It was the only park we hadn't visited yet. We decided to get there after lunch so that we'd have enough energy to stay for the fireworks laser show. In the end, we ended up waiting way too long for the GM Test Track ride (which was very disappointing for the record) and ended up missing the fireworks. We were a little bummed out to say the least. Had the ride been great, we wouldn't have minded the wait and missing the show, and by the line ups and wait times it should have been great, but it was lame and disappointing. You can't win them all.

The rest of the day was great. We very much enjoyed Soarin' - a ride that makes you feel like you're flying, and Ellen's Energy ride was surprisingly entertaining and informative. You start out in a big theater watching a movie, and you think that's all it is, but then the whole section of seats you're in start moving and you are suddenly among dinasours. I didn't expect to learn so much at Disney, but many attractions are actually very educational. We also watched a fish feeding in one of the biggest salt water aquariums in the world.

We spent the evening in the World Showcase where we ate our way across the globe with a bratwurst from Germany (Rick's pick), Sushi from Japan (Aria's pick), and Fish and Chips from England (Kaija's pick). The boat ride at the Norway pavillion was cool, and the movie at the Canadian pavillion was great, except that they hardly mentioned the prairies at all. Candace Hoeppner is going to get a letter about that.

Aria has to dance, poke someone, sing, tap something or be just nuts a lot of the time. Here she is doing a Saturday night fever move while watching the fish. Can you read Kaija's mind?

This thing is just enormous, and the ride/show inside is pretty cool. It takes you through human history, from cave man days to the present.

Sushi for supper. Yummy, but I'd have to have about 50 of these to get full. You walk miles in these parks and you get HUNGRY. We ate a lot of greasy fish and chips afterward to fill in the cracks. It feels like we're always hungry and always eating in the parks. Maybe it's the walking, or maybe it's because someone is always walking by you with something that looks delicious!

Those crazy Norwegians.
