Florida - Day 5

Today we just explored our resort and hung out in our room. It was smoking hot, so we spent the morning in the pool and at the beach, and then hung out in the air conditioning for the afternoon. We ventured out again in the evening for a beautiful sunset walk along the beach. Every so often you can see dolphins out in the water. What a treat to see that! There are also lots of interesting shorebirds to watch as they dive-bomb into the water to catch fish. There are also dozens of sea turtle nests along the beach and they are marked so that people don't disturb them. Apparently they are starting to hatch, generally only at night, but if we're lucky maybe we'll get to experience it.

Our room from the ground.

The pool. You can see the Gulf water in the distance. That's where you can see dolphins swimming every night.

Our room.

There are shells everywhere and we'll probably have to buy another suitcase for all the ones the girls want to bring home.

I thought this evergreen and palm where interesting side-by-side.

Look, dolphins!
