Day 12 - Jessie Honeyman State Park

The Big Bang

We started our day with a bang by going on a Dune Buggy ride. It was wild, bumpy, crazy and super fun. You had to wear goggles to keep the sand out of your eyes because the sand flies everywhere. We would drive straight up a steep dune, and then the driver would turn so sharply on the ridge that you thought you’d tip. Then he’d let the buggy fly down the dune and nearly miss the lagoon at the bottom. It was awesome! Our driver’s name was Roger. The girls had been skeptical about this idea, but after our ride, they wanted more.

In the afternoon we relaxed at a lake in our park. A highlight for Aria was the salamander she found at the bottom of the lake. She named him Squishy. The sun was warm today which was great, as we've spent a lot of time being chilly.
