Day 9 - Astoria (July 12)

Astoria

We decided to end our stay at Fort Stevens by exploring the nearby town of Astoria. It is a cute little fishing town where the Columbia River meets the ocean. Other than being a chilly day (honestly, toques and mitts would not have been a bad idea), it was a great day of exploring. We climbed a big tower for a great view, took an old fashioned trolley car along the wharf, found some sea lions sun bathing on the docks, spent an hour in a pet store (you can guess who’s pick that was), and ended the day with one last visit to the beach.
